A beautiful pheasant
|
Prairie Wind Hunting Club is one of the finest Controlled Shooting Area hunt clubs in this area in Kansas, specializing in economical custom hunts for your shooting pleasure. In addition to the CSA's there are also hunting lands for "wild" pheasant and quail. PWHC operates five separate CSA"s, consisting of 160+ acre properties, with ~90 to 150 acres of CRP grass on each, with hunter walking lanes provided. The balance acreage consists of wooded to partially wooded and former pastureland in tall grass cover. CSA"s rated in degree of difficulty to hunt. You choose. You can take as many rooster and hen pheasant, quail, or chucker as you wish each day; there is no bag limit on a controlled shooting area. The pheasant, quail, and chucker are assured to be on the property, as I will release the birds you wish prior to each daily hunt, adding to the birds that are already in the fields. Either a Kansas hunting license or a "CSA License" which cost ~ $26.00, for you non-residents, is required to hunt a CSA. Pheasant, Quail, and Chucker hunting season opens September 1st and runs to March 31st. |

Rates for a self-guided hunt are $160 per gun per day or $225 for a guided hunt, for which I release four pheasant, or eight quail, or five chucker per gun for your shooting pleasure. Unfortunately, due to Bidenomics, our bird costs have increased considerably, which has forced us to increase our fees. (Let's Go Brandon!) We apologize for this and did our best to keep the increase as low as possible. Additional pheasants are $30 each, additional quail are $15 each, and additional chuckers are $24 each for as many as you wish released. |

For active duty or recently returning vets, an additional pheasant, chucker, or two quail per day will be released in appreciation of their service. Accompanied youth under the age of 15 hunt free shooting on their parent's or guardian's bird quota. |

PWHC provides overnight accommodations for up to 13 hunters on-site in newly renovated and expanded hunting quarters. One bunkhouse sleeps eight guests with handicap facilities. A new bunkhouse sleeps up to 5 with 2 private bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a twin bed over a full size bed. In addition, the new bunkhouse is equipped with full bath facilities and a large common area. The hunting packages include overnight accommodations and you are invited to join us for all meals, complements of PWHC. It has been our practice to feature wild game for the main meal each day, generally consisting of venison, pheasant, or quail. |

PWHC encourages you to bring your favorite dogs for your self-guided hunt. Guest dog kennels are available at no additional fee. If you do not have your own dogs, I will accompany your guided hunt with my German Shorthaired Pointers. |
